Online scams, hacks and the cybersecurity fails that feed them don’t stop for the holidays, and so neither do we. That said, a lot of people do take a break this time of year, which is why we’re guest-less this week. But you’ve still got us! And there’s plenty of news.

It was impossible to give the Cyber-Facepalm Award to one incident when German researchers bought used biometric devices on eBay with sensitive U.S. military data stored on them and Lastpass announced that “harmless” compromise that didn’t include user passwords actually may not have been so harmless after all. But don’t worry, we’ve got your back.
